Everyday Life Injuries among Children Under 6 Years Old: Accident or Neglect?

Injuries related to everyday accidents are very common in children and the main reasons for hospitalization pediatric surgery. They have similarities with neglect. The objective is assess frequency circumstances of occurrence unintentional under 6 years old. secondary specify associated factors eventually determine if those can be Material methods : This a cross-sectional study carried out at Pediatric Surgical Emergencies Department Rabat Children's Hospital 2017. Results We identified 363 cases accidents. variables were collected on questionnaire. 155 aged under. median age was 2, 83 predominance boys (56%). Children over 2 old most affected (55.48%). Low middle-income families dominated socio-demographic factors. mothers almost half never went school. In 65.4% cases, an adult present during accident, often mother (62%). lesions involved limbs (64%) head (47%). Hospitalization 24 hours (60.8%). There no complication 96.8% cases. Some risk also found negligence.
